The school leaders met with the president of Moscow Aviation Institute Pogosyan and his delegation

    On September 9, President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Ding Kuiling met with visiting President of Moscow Aviation Institute Mikhail Pogosyan and his delegation at Xuhui Campus. The two sides discussed how to further strengthen and deepen the existing cooperation. Roman Klinovisky, Director of the high-end Project Department of the Moscow Aviation Institute, accompanied the visit.

    During the talk, both parties jointly reviewed the fruitful achievements made in education, scientific research, academic cooperation and exchange over the past eight years, and had an in-depth and meticulous discussion on how to further optimize the double-degree education program and promote the in-depth exchanges between Chinese and Russian teachers and students. Looking into the future, both parties expressed their strong willingness to further deepen cooperation and reached a broad consensus.

    At the symposium, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and other units conducted in-depth discussions with relevant departments of the Moscow Aviation Institute on specific paths and implementation details of cooperation.

    Since its inception in 2017, the joint undergraduate and master's double-degree program between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Moscow Aviation Institute has borne fruitful results, cultivating over 550 Chinese and Russian students in total. Among them, more than 330 outstanding students have successfully completed their studies and entered society, becoming a new force driving the development of aerospace industries in both China and Russia. These graduates not only possess solid professional knowledge and skills but also have a broad international perspective and cross-cultural communication abilities. They have made positive contributions to the deepening cooperation between the two countries in science and technology, education, and humanities, highlighting the unique value of educational cooperation in promoting friendship and understanding between nations.
